Exact Z scale (1:220th) military models

Leopard 2 A4

A very accurate model of the modern German tank, in use from 1979 through to the present day.

My model has the side-skirts removed which reduces the overall width for rail transport.

Soon I will release a version with side-skirts attached.

For accuracy you should use Marklins 6-axle flatcar (82352) to transport these tanks on your layout.

The tanks are cast (from 5 separate pieces) in a polyeurthane resin which has ideal properties; it is light yet strong and accurately reproduces the full detail of the master prototype. Being light (each tank weighs about 3 grammes) allows the tanks to be put on Z scale wagons and pulled by locomotives.

These tanks are sold unpainted or painted. All tanks are made to order.

This is the latest of my model tanks, and the most accurate. I work
to an accuracy of less than 0.1mm and achieve or better this target
in most instances.

All the main components (the hull, turret, sprocket, roadwheels,
idler and even the tracks) were milled from aluminium. Using a
milling machine enables work to much greater accuracy.

Details were added to the prototype model using brass, plastic and
any other suitable materials. Please enlarge the photographs but
remember the scale of the model before you judge!

The Leopard 2 A4 in Z scale stands 12.5mm (0.49in) tall, 15.3mm
(0.60in) wide, and 33.7mm (1.33in) long excluding the gun barrel.
